Director’s PAN is…
“Break free from theatrical conventionality and set up a new platform.”
Launched in 2018 by our new Artistic Director for the purpose of discovering and developing new works and original plays, Director’s PAN is a creative project, whereby directors use their directing aesthetics to explore specific themes each year. Directors are invited to present their individual or collective concerns without any formal restrictions. Furthermore, the National Theater Company of Korea aims to introduce Korean directors and their works to a wider audience worldwide through this new platform.
Heralded by the 2018 Declaration of the National Theater Company of Korea, Director’s PAN will consider theatre required by the present era, and allow directors to devise new forms and contents that can be used to convey various themes and aesthetics as befits the demands of the times. Audiences will have a chance to witness the entire process in unrestricted forms.

Showcase
The Studio PAN is expanded into an infinite space for the theatre director’s chanlleanges. The starting point was the four directors’ intense debate on the declaration of the National Theater Company of Korea. Now at the end of the journey, you will see the four different results exploring the theatre.
