A serial killer who flipped the world upside down!
Can we really condemn him?
Roberto Succo is the name of the serial killer who shocked the entire European society 35 years ago. Inspired by his wanted poster in the streets, Bernard-Marie Koltes created an immortal masterpiece that took years to be staged in France due to its grossly shocking nature of the descriptions. As if possessed by a demon, Roberto Zucco in this work wanders from one city to another committing all sorts of heinous crimes. Any crime that is humanly possible, he committed them all. We are living today perhaps with another Robert Zucco in this world where random, spree killings are rampant. Do we have the right to criticize or condemn him, who is a natural product of our society today?
The stage which the writer Koltes dreamed of will draw you in like a black hole
This fall, based on the intense original which represents France, directors Jean Lambert-wild and Lorenzo Malaguerra take yet another new challenge in the world of theater in Korea with their perfect combination of movements and stage art. On stage, designed based on Seodaemun Prison in which Korean followers of the Independence Movement from the rule of Japanese Imperialism had been confined, seven doors are presented, each representing different places within the play. The stage will make a breathtaking ensemble with the seasonal members of NTC Korea including Baek Seok Gwang, whose dynamic movements and detailed acting perfectly coincide with the physical and emotional expressions the writer requests. You will be captivated by the performance and sucked into the story like an inescapable black hole.
Synopsis
After being imprisoned for the murder of his father, Roberto Zucco escapes amid the tight security in less than a day into his prison sentence. Zucco wanders all around murdering people for no reason and stirs up fear everywhere he goes. Meanwhile, the girl whose virginity has been taken by Zucco is on her way to a brothel in the vain hope of finding him, and eventually her brother sells her off to a pimp. After hiding for some time amongst the crowd like an invisible man, Zucco suddenly appears in front of the police and confesses his murders.
