The nation’s much loved actresses in their seventies, Park Jung-ja and Sohn Sook share the stage for Edward Albee’s Pulitzer Prize winning 1994 play, Three Tall Women. The two legendary theater stars once again portray a dog and cat relationship since God of Agnes a decade ago, in which they first met as the mother superior of the convent and a psychiatrist clashing over a novice nun’s problem. Park Jung-ja portrays a whimsical ninety years old woman who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, displaying her usual charismatic presence and powerful low voice. As the counter heroin, Sohn Sook is reborn as a bitter and cynical middle-aged woman in her fifties without a trace of her usual tragic air. The director Lee Byung-hun's master’s touch brings out still-not-yet-seen charms of the mature actresses by putting two ladies in an unfamiliar environment. Some unexpected comic effect is promised when the two legendary actresses clash on the stage of Albee’s theater of the absurd.
